Hello Alex,

Using alias you can access the same stream using another URL with different application name.

e.g. create an alias "live2" for application "live" and streams from "live" like http://<server>/live/stream/playlist.m3u8 will also be available as http://<server>/live2/stream/playlist.m3u8. It can be used to apply different WMSAuth protection options or "HTTP origin" mode without duplicating streams.

thanks max for your answer
I know about it But I do not know how to implement it, especially for mapping new address in wmspanel. please explain to me practically and completely how to implement it.

Hello Alex,

Could you please clarify, what is not clear for you, what you'd like to implement? You do not need to map any addresses in WMSPanel, just add an alias (or multiple ones) like it is described on https://blog.wmspanel.com/2015/04/stream-aliases-nimble-streamer.html page and use URLs with aliased application for playback.

hello Max
for example i have a few video files in physical address d:\project\videos\1\mp4\<name>.mp4 and i go to page https://wmspanel.com/nimble_route then click "ADD VOD STREAMING ROUTE" and add route by set this address http://<server>/videos/1/mp4/<name>.mp4. now i want map this address http://<server>/videos/33<name>55.mp4 to http://<server>/videos/1/mp4/<name>.mp4. my problem is when i go to https://wmspanel.com/nimble_aliases then click "add aliases" in input text "Aliases" i just add http://<server>/videos/33<name>55.mp4 but i don't know which input add address http://<server>/videos/1/mp4/<name>.mp4?

Hello Alex,

Alias can only substitute application name (first part of URL which is "videos" in your case), so you can e.g. use "another_videos" alias and play the same stream via http://<server>/another_videos/33<name>55.mp4

replacing/modifying stream names using aliases is not supported.

Hello max
Is there any solution for my request?

alex 2018-08-26 07:26:31 UTC

What do you mean "stream names" is "33<name>55.mp4" ?
