Is Nimble Streamer capable of encrypting or makeing re-published RTSP and RTMP secure?

Leonardo 2016-06-19 16:38:00 UTC in WMSPanel functionality

I was wondering if Nimble Streamer is capable of encrypting RTSP and RTMP re-published streams. I know that the authentication is supported but what if one is "sniffing" my network after the authentication? Can I definitely secure the packet sent over the internet?

Thanks

Not yet. Do you think this will be popular feature ?

I do not know if this is will be a popular feature. In my application, the video streams must secure because they contain sensible data. Is there a chance I can encrypt an RTSP stream? Or passing it via HTTPS?

You won't be able to pass it via HTTPS in case of using RTSP. So I'm afaid we won't be able to help you at this point.

I see that MPEGTS can be sent over HTTPS. Is it possible to open an MPEGTS stream over HTTPS with VLC right? This may solve my problem.

If MPEGTS over HTTPS solves your task then you should definitely use it.
