Icecast to HLS audio only

I have an application to which I am pushing live AAC audio using the Icecast protocol. The application is set for Icecast and HLS protocols.

When I get the playback URL for the application, the Icecast version works fine (e.g. http://example.com:8081/icecast/radio-english-aac/icecast.audio). However, when I try the HLS URL (e.g., http://example.com:8081/icecast/radio-english-aac/playlist.m3u8), I get a 404 Not Found response.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong? The documentation for HLS audio assumes that I am pulling from Icecast or from prerecorded sources, but I am pushing live audio.

Seems you have start pushing audio with HLS disabled in Global/Application settings and enable it later. In this case output HLS has not been created (since it created at moment it receive stream).
You just have to restart pushing Icecast stream, and it should work.

That was the problem: I started with Icecast only, then added HLS without restarting the stream. Restarting the stream made both HLS and Icecast work immediately.
