Feature Request : Filename parameter for progressive downloads

Alexandre St-Jacques 2016-12-18 05:06:36 UTC in Nimble Streamer

Hi team,

I'm currently facing an issue where I'm naming my files with their quality to easily manage them, but when making a user download the file, they receive it as "1080.mp4", "720.mp4".

Could it be possible to add a "filename=test_file_name" as a parameter for progressive download. Dots should not be allowed in the title and it should get the extension from the original file.

This can be achieved by adding the header :
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=test_file_name.mp4

Thank you for all your hard work!

If display name is a problem please try to workaround it on your player

The problem is for the download. There's a lot of security on browser side and since we are doing CORS, we have no way of manipulating the file name other than changing the name on the server side.
