Can't disable hls function for republishing or re-streaming

Joël 2015-04-29 08:17:17 UTC in WMSPanel functionality

Hi,
Now it is not possible to disable HLS or HLS (MPEG TS) under application settings.
In some cases, like re-streaming, I need only rtmp for re-streaming from origin to edge.
Or in cases when I pull a original stream from nimble-streamer with rtmp://127.0.0.1/rtmp/live1
and rtmp://127.0.0.1/rtmp/live1-backup to make redundantie for live streams.
For the original incoming rtmp live1 and live1-backup streams, is it not necessary to cache them in hls chunks. It’s needless eating up ram on the server, don’t you think?

Alright! Thanks!

Hello Joel,
now you can disable HLS transmuxing global per server or per application.

Hi Dmitry, yes I can disable hls now for the re-stream applications. Perfect!

Mayby a silly question, but what is the different between hls and hls(MPEGTS) before it was jumping over from hls to hls(MPEGTS)
by turning hls off.

in case you have audio-only stream Nimble will produce light version of HLS stream not based on mpeg2ts. There are STBs though without such support so you can force mpeg2ts production in such case by HLS(MPEGTS)

I see, thanks for the explanation!
