Bug report: :8082/manage/server_status doesnt update OutRate

Jehvi 2016-04-19 10:57:21 UTC in Nimble Streamer

Just to reminder, that there is bug when Nimble Streamer isn't registered into WMSPanel, it wont update OutRate in :8082/manage/server_status stats..

Hope this gets fixed soon, because our load balancing system will be using this data heavily.

Thanks for reminder, Jehvi. We'll fix that in future releases.
Is there any reason for not registering the server in the panel?

Jehvi 2016-04-19 11:13:06 UTC

Thanx! We will still control and monitor our origin servers through WMSPanel, but since edge servers are plain repeaters that come and go based on load, we dont want them to clutter up the WMSPanel.

WMSPanel is still used to monitor and control main streams and routes.

I'm everyday more and more falling in love with this whole product family. Especially now the new transcoder thing is going to make life SOOO much easier! Big thanx for that!

Jehvi, thank you. We're working hard to release the transcoder as soon as possible.

for two years this error was not corrected.

Indeed, this bug is still "bugging" us.. It's really crucial feature also.

I think wmspanel doing it intentionally.

Am I right, that Nimble not connected to Panel, also return wrong number in "Connections" value in manage/server_status? I see correct SysInfo values returned, but in "Connections" I see zeroes (sometimes 1 or 2), and in OutRate always 0.

This problem still persists.

Statistics is aggregated to be published into the panel. If user works with the server without statistics server doesn't wast it's time to gather and persist stats. it's by design. Panel subscription is not that expensive and you can support our team keep going with it!

Suitable for working with 1 or 2 servers. But it would be costly for those with 20 servers.
