Any idea way Mpeg-dash streams of Nimble are not supported by JWplayer?

Joël 2015-10-28 11:43:47 UTC in Nimble Streamer

JWplayer point me to a Dash validater
http://dashif.org/conformance.htmlMPEG-DASH

I paste a url of a running live stream and it says :

Start XLink resolving
=====================
XLink resolving successful
Start MPD validation
====================
MPD validation successful - DASH is valid!
Start Schematron validation
===========================
location="/*[local-name()='MPD' and namespace-uri()='urn:mpeg:dash:schema:mpd:2011']">
If MPD is of type "dynamic" publishTime shall be defined.
Schematron validation not successful - DASH is not valid!
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 4 seconds

sorry, no its working well with html5 and JWplayer in Chrome
It doesn't work in flash-mode or with win10 edge browser

Please proceed to work with JW team on this issue.
Please add our team to this conversation if necessary

joel 2015-10-29 07:55:55 UTC

It will not happen again!
I was confused, about "Dash is not valid"!

Alex Pokotilo 2015-10-30 02:21:01 UTC

It's not a problem at all. So what is the progress with JW Player team about dash playback in flash-mode. You should understand that JW in javascript mode(works in Chrome, IE) is most probably dash.js reference implementation but flash version is JW-own player. I've checked standard and see that validator provided correct results and I'll add publishTime value for "dynamic" dash manifests and let you know once fixed version available. Maybe JW in flash mode will start working

Thanks Alex fir your explanation.
My purpuse was, to get rid of flash and have have JW player loaded in HTML5 with falback to hls on Ipads and Firefox(firefox doin't support html5 yet)

Joel,
you cannot eliminate flash as of now for following reasons:
1) you have to use flash if you need to support all PC users as MSE available for ~50% or them
2) MSE works slower. I have old laptop and flash works fine but MSE works sometimes
3) please increase chunk duration and chunk count in live stream settings. If I increase chunk count from 4 to 8-10 and keep chunk duration as 6 seconds dash.js player starts working with Dash generated by Nimble more stable. I'll send some tickets against dash.js but for now please try this method as well.
4)try bitmovin. I like their flash DASH player. It looks like it's the best currently available

Alex thanks
I think you are right about 50% users are still using flash.
I have increase the chunk count now to 10, and it works with smooth with JWplayer and the flash plugin enabled.
You mean the bitdash player! Yes this player works great.
I have licence for jwplayer till next year, so I wait a little bit longer. And I love the playlist/css and api function of jwplayer.

JW is great player and they provide cool features so go with them further. It's cool you fixed your problems finally.
Now it's time to try our DVR with Dash support.

joël 2015-11-13 08:57:54 UTC

Yes, we have a lot of live stream setups. DVR is a great feature for live streaming. I have set dvr Dash first with fallback to dvr hls in jwplayer.
