AD markers

Hi,
Will Nimble pass-through ad markers and captioning embedded in a source stream? eg: Source is HLS or MPEG-TS with CEA-608 captions and SCTE-35 ad markers embedded. Will this work with and without the Transcoder?

HI,
Nimble pass-through CEA-608 markers with and without transcoder. There is a setting in encoder to pass-through CEA. For transmuxing it will pass CEA by default without any settings.

As far I reacall SCTE-35 data passed through separate transport stream and Nimble just ignore it for now. We're planning to start working on ADs on the next week so if you want to participate in this initiative please contact us via https://wmspanel.com/contact and provide your case description is mpegts live stream for tests.

Has any progress been made on this front. It would be nice if the advertiser could be used to insert content at a splice point or have it pass the trigger through into an HLS stream so the end user player can play a targeted ad.

Currently Advertizer supports only own proprietary format ( read https://wmspanel.com/nimble/advertizer_spec for details), but we're working on SCTE-35 support ( pass-though first and content insertion later). We will issue an article on https://blog.wmspanel.com/ when it will be done, so stay tuned.
