Playpack DVR backup again

Joël 2016-07-09 19:50:54 UTC in WMSPanel functionality

I have a backup of a DVR folder, and want to playback the video again. But the video won't play. Even when I make a new dvr application with the right path to the dvr backup folder, the video won't play either. I tried also to copy all the dvr folders of the backup, to an existing dvr folder, and deleted the existing content of this folder, but without succes to playback the video. Is there a way to get this DVR content back to live again? Actually nothing is missing in this backup of the DVR folder.

Hello Joël,

Please check that backed up DVR archive is loaded (you can get this info in WMSPanel checking the archive's depth). Please also check what Nimble returns to player requests.

Moving the archive to another folder for backup should not cause any problems, if you won't get it worked please write an email to help@wmspanel.com and provide the stream URL so we could help you to find out what is going wrong.

Thank you.

Yes, its fixed now!
Whenn I set the original DVR settings in WMSpanel back again, I can play the dvr content from the backup. So it can't be loaded without original dvr settings? Am I right? when you point some new dvr settings to the path of the backup folder, the dvr database can't be loaded, for some reason.

Hello Joël,

That is strange, could you please clarify which settings you're meaning?

Changing app/stream name or dvr archive path should not prevent archive from loading (if correct path is used of course). And other settings like depth or segment duration should not affect it too.

All right, I will test it again, with an other dvr backup. maybe was the mounted share not available the first time.
