MPEG 2 TS over UDP not working for me

James 2021-10-20 15:40:38 UTC in Nimble Streamer

Hello - I am a new user, just started paying for a subscription and Addenda license.

I have an MPEG 2 TS stream coming out of a hardware encoder.

If I point VLC to: udp://@:10501 I see video as expected.

However in your UI, under MPEGTS In -> Add UDP stream, entering any IP address (including loopback 127.0.0.1) and port number 10501, it eventually reports "Setting is synced-up but there is no incoming stream at the moment.".

The port is definitely taken over by Nimble, as while this is running VLC stops playing, and I must remove the UDP stream/input in your UI to restore VLC viewing.

Please advise!

James, I've noticed you've already opened a ticket for your question, so we're continuing there.

Make sure port is allowed in firewall on linux
