How do I generate thumbnail for DVR stream and live streams?

We know that it is possible to do this with ffmpeg.
Is there another option by nimble's API ?

Sorry, currently Nimble doesn't support thumbnails creation. We're planning to add this feature to Nimble, and one day it will be possible. However, it will require Live Transcoder license (since stream should be decoded to extract picture from it) - for someone it may be too expensive.
