Do you support .mov files recorded with AVCaptureMovieFileOutput

Joel 2018-06-15 19:44:17 UTC in Nimble Streamer

Hi,

If I use an AVCaptureSession to record directly to an AVCaptureMovieFileOutput and save it as a ".mov" file, can Nimble Streamer later stream from that file as a source? I see on https://wmspanel.com/nimble/vod_streaming that you say "MP4 is supported as video+audio, video, audio, original MP4, Apple QuickTime extension." but I'm not sure if the "Apple QuickTime extension" part means ".mov" files or something else?

Please confirm.

Thanks!

Nimble supports mp4 container so if your materials packed in mp4 it will work.

Thanks Alex. I think a ".mov" file is the Apple format - mp4 is the open source/free license/no patent version of ".mov". Do you support .mov directly or do I need to convert to .mp4? Thanks!

Actually .mp4 and .mov are almost the same (at least for ffmpeg it just synonyms), so you don't need to convert it.
