Audio out of sync after emerg failover

I've been wrestling with trying to get an RTMP emergency failover working.
It works (meaning it switches to the emergency stream when it's present, and back when it's not)...but the audio is out of sync when it switches and switches back.
Am using aformat ro set sample rate at 48000 across all streams.
Am I overlooking something?

Just to post a public follow-up on this. It seems the sync issue manifested itself in JW Player 7.x which is what's on the Live Streams popup player selector. JW 8x and other players seem fine.
